The deadline to register to vote in the March 8, 2011 Municipal Elections is February 7, 2011 at 5:00 p.m.! You may download an application from our website at www.pbcelections.org, come into any one of our offices and complete an application, or call us and we will mail you an application. If you intend to mail your Voter Registration Application, it must be postmarked no later than February 7, 2011, to be eligible to vote on March 8, 2011. The qualifications to register to vote are as follows: you must be at least 18 years of age, be a citizen of the United States, be a legal resident of the State of Florida, and be a legal resident of the county in which you seek to be registered. If you are a new voter in Palm Beach County, you register by mail and you have not voted in an election for Federal office in this county, you must present current valid photo identification or a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck or other governmental documents that show your name and address. To be exempt from these qualifications, you must meet one of the following requirements: be 65 years old or older when you register, have a physical disability, be a member, spouse or dependent of active uniform service or merchant marine absent from the county on Election Day, or living outside of the United States but eligible to vote in Florida. You are not entitled to register to vote if you have been adjudicated mentally incapacitated with regard to voting and you have not had your right to vote restored, or, if you have been convicted of a felony and you have not had your right to vote restored.
