Anonym / Sunday, November 2, 2008 / Categories: 2008 Palm Beach County Canvassing Board Continues Review of Absentee Ballots for Fifth Day West Palm Beach, Fla. - November 2, 2008 -The Palm Beach County Canvassing Board reconvened this morning for the fifth consecutive day of reviewing Absentee Ballots for the November 4th General Election. Since convening on Wednesday to begin the review process, the Canvassing Board has reviewed a total of 4,846 Absentee Ballots to address issues of voter signature discrepancies and voter intent. Voter intent issues were addressed in cases of ballots that contained multiple votes in one category (referred to as over votes), cases where no vote was cast at all (referred to as under votes) or cases where the voter designated his/her choice in a fashion other than connecting the arrows as instructed. Of the total Absentee Ballots reviewed approximately 3,000 ballots were determined to be under votes while approximately 1,800 contained issues related to voter intent or signature discrepancies. The Board will reconvene tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. at the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Tabulation Center. This process will continue through the General Election on Tuesday or until all Absentee Ballots have been reviewed.
