Remembering Jacqueline Winchester, former Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections
Jacqueline "Jackie" Winchester 1930-2021
We are saddened to learn of the passing of Jackie Winchester. She served as Supervisor of Elections for Palm Beach County from 1973-1996, retiring after 23 years. She made a positive impact on those who had the opportunity to work alongside her.
Friends and family will celebrate her life at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church on May 8, 2021, at 1:30 pm. More information about her can be found by visiting this website.
We did not call her by her first name. She was either Mrs. Winchester or as some others called her, JW.
I don't think there was ever a day that I saw her wear black or dark colors for that matter. She always wore bright or light colors.
Everyone respected her even if they didn't see eye to eye with her and she wasn't afraid to let you know that too.
She was highly professional. She knew her job and knew it well and ran the office with integrity, honesty, great character, and respect.
She believed in having fair elections. The foundation of running elections as I know it was laid by her and 25 years later it is something I will never forget.
